Dr. C. Leigh Broadhurst is a research geochemist and physical chemist with the Environmental Microbial and Food Safety Laboratory, USDA Agricultural Research Service, and University of Maryland, Baltimore County. She is an expert on polyunsaturated fatty acid physical chemistry and biophysics, and together with colleagues has made dramatic advances in the field of paleonutrition and brain specific-nutrition; most importantly to understand the remarkable essentiality of docosahexaenoic acid (DHA; omega-3). Dr. Broadhurst has also published extensively in the fields of medicinal plants, environmental remediation utilizing plants, and natural diabetes prevention and cure.
